Hello out there,
Well, the count down has begun. Today marks the 10 days to point. Christmas is coming soon and we here in the DR are very excited. Here is a photo of the house I share with Chelsea and Leah, we often eat on the roof.
As most of you know we will be coming home for Christmas, leaving December 15th and returning here on January 15th, (and staying until May 15th.) My family is headed down to come and see me. They arrive the 12th and we are going to spend a few days here touring San Juan before we head off to explore other areas of the Dominican Republic.
I am so excited to see my family again! Expecially my mom. It is time for me again to have a mother. Ive been wondering, even when i am old, “Will my mother still be my mother?”
Here the question is yes. Actually, your mother will come and live with you by the time she turns 50. Maybe your dad too. The Dominican culture tends to be very family based. They can trace there family tree through the braches, stumps, roots, leaves and fruit that has fallen off at some point.
Anyway,I’m sure that you get the picture. Not much is going on here. We are winding down, cleaning. Getting excited! My birthday is this Friday, December 7th. Great DAY! Not much else to say. I can’t wait for my family to meet the people here and see what it is like. When I have their reactions I will post them.
Thank you so much, this week I would love you to pray for unity.
Emily
Sorry this was posted so late, the internet has been down. But I did have my birthday and it was incredible. Thank you so much to all of you who left comments and celebrated with me. We felt your prayers.
