Hello world,

i must appologize is this blog is a little difficult to read. you see i have been staring at the light bulb above my head for about an hour praising God for Thomas Edison (or maybe that german guy who said that he did it first). Our trip into the mountains was incredible and more than that it was truley inspiring.
We lived with the Pastora (Carlota) and her entire family in a rather small and cramped house. They live without electricity, running water (most of the time) and literally climb a mountain every morning to go anywhere. These people are warriors and for a time i got to share in the experience with them.
Arriving the first day we soon realized that mountain time and city time differ greatly from one another. Everything and nothing is an inconveniece. People show up, or dont,  to anything they feel like invited or not. Our first church service we learned composed of 5 female members (the sole members of the church) and us. (oh plus kids) It never had a set time or place for church.
Visiting friends late at night or scrubbing clothes early in the morning it was church time. Preaching, singing worship of every form and jokes were told whether surrounded for four dirty/sanctified walls or not. This is the church.
The community was truley female led dominated the wives of farmers who were to busy to work in the community. As they led us through the daily routine of living in the mountains we three girls fit in very well. While the guys felt a little awkward and were often found at the domino table (which we found out later that Christians DONT play!). You could tell that we were foreigners to the rules of the mountains, one: because we always had a piece of fruit freshly pulled off of a wild bush growing somewhere on the mountian. two: each one of us (especially me) returned home with bruises from falling down the steep slopes. three: we were very white. Gloria Adios.
It really was incredible we had two VBS’s which went over really well with the kids, we bathed in a fresh mountian river and under a 20/25 foot water fall. I burned my hand significantly while learning to kill and cook a chicken. (best recipe for burns fresh orange and paste de tomate). The team in its entirty really struggled this week with sickness, i personally experinced diareah in the woods for the first time. As did some of the others. Also Angelo got pink eye, Chelsi and i got a stomach thing along with other pleasantness.
Over all it was a great trip. im not sure what else to write about so this is where this blog ends. If you have any questions i would love to answer them! Leave me a responce. These were some of the girls!
