HELLO OUTSIDE WORLD!!!

I know that my last blog was rather short due to the fact that the foreign keyboard continually erased everything i wrote.

so let me back track. The 20th we headed to the mountains and spent time in a little town called Montesitos. There i feel
like i really started to discover what the DOminicans culture struggles with in the arena of religion.

Number 1. They are such a hospitable people that in order no to offend anyone they will agree with whatever necesary to appease their guests.
This makes it really difficult to determine if any true commitments are made.

Number 2. There are many people in this area that claim to have the “true answers” there are Menonites, Catholics, Evangelicals, Jehovah’s witnesses, Mormons (lots and lots)
Voodo witches and finally us. So these poor people are so confused about the Bible and who God is. (The giant fish had how many wives!!!)

Number 3. Finally they determine their christianity by what kind of life stle they live and how often they go to church. Which is hard because God is not about
what you have and havent done, its all about the personal relatoinship.

While we were in Montesitos we spent most of our time actually visiting and loving on the locals. They love to have people (expecially foreigners) in their houses
,it’s like a sign of your level of importance in the community. We met this little lady who had to be about 80. She lived in a little shack with a dirt floor
and yet all she wanted to talk about was her grandchildern and great grand children. As we later found out she raised 12-15ish kids and populated that side
of the mountain. She was quite incredible.

The mountains were incredible and we got to give testimony and love on people all while staring at one of the most awesome sights i have ever seen. THe pictures
are all on Leahs camera so we will get them soon.

okay we are headed to go load this in the internet cafe… ill talk to you later!
