Hello!
What a fast paced
week! Everything has flown by and although it is only Tuesday I am wondering
when this week began and when it is going to end. The DR team has about two
weeks before a youth group of 18-30 arrives at our doorstep ready and eager to
serve. Preparing for them and finding all of the materials they will need has
already been busy and I can’t wait to see what the next two weeks of
preparation bring.
This morning six of
us; Miguel, Kristen, Samantha and Jessica/James (visiting friends of M&K),
went out to the mountains to do some hiking. It was incredible and I really
enjoyed it. Lots of beauty here in the mountains.
Tomorrow I am headed
to Montesitos, the site of our very first short term mission, with Olga my
roommate. Her family all lives in Montesitos so we are going to go visit
because it is Semana Santa. This is a Holy week for the Catholics here.
Everyone else just takes the time off and eats, Habichuelas con Dulce (sweet
beans, cold). It is an experience that I do not want to miss.
