Hola,

  Welcome back to the exciting world of EMILY!!! no it is really not my world and that is what is so awesome about it. I have no power over anything nor does it matter. I am a player (meaning character of)in Gods bigger plans. This is a very freeing feeling, knowing that my life is just a small part of what is so awesomley HUGE!!!

   OKAY... I promise my Christianize moment is over. I just want everyone to know how imporant my unimportance is.

 STORY TIME!!!
 I have an awesome one today. It is actually a little crazy. It takes place in a small cement structure used to  house the elderly residents of San Juan that are either without family or abandon to finish their days watching old 70's music on a fuzzy television screen. I truley beleive that we as human being never get old... our bodiesjust stop being as vibrant and tight as they once were.
  These people are living proof that age has no affect on a youthful mind and heart. More than once i have walked into a dance party already in progess with ladies that can still "shake it" better than any white girl walking the block.

 This particular day our entire team went to the retirment home. (We usually split into our interships but at that point the storms wer going on so everyone elses interships had been canceled.) As we enter in through the front wire mesh gate the sound of wailing wafts through the palm trees startling both the residents and us. As we walk into the front door the wailing turns to whimpering and the sadest sounds i have ever heard from a human. We turn the corner to find one of the littlest and oldest ladies holding her blood soaked shirt to her shoulder nursing a large open wound on the upper interior or her right arm.
 

  Blood was running freely from the wound and before we could ask what had happened Helen came swerving into the room in an angery muttering rage. Some background on Martha: she is blind and on the younger side of the residents. Although not known to be violent she is definitley not in possesion of all her mental functions. In fact she does not comunicate well or  respond to much besides music.
 

 Well the story is that Helen had been hit by the other lady with the wound. (A little hard to believe because the other lady is frail, not in possesion of any mental copacities and confind to a wheel chair.) Helen then retaliated by lunging at the the other woman catching her arm between her teeth and biting until one of the other residents pulled her off. Helen succeded in taking biting through to the first layer of superficial muscle in her victim. Intense for 60 and over!!!

 Other than that we broke up three other fights that day in the "old folks home".
  What a day... when was this in my contract.....

Hey this is Gloria get familiar with her. She is blind as you can get and hysterical. Her best lines. Dame un peso! Dime, llaves las pina? and she sings us this song entitled i have 10 boyfriends. (Tengo diez novios) She is a light in the crazy. Or a crazy that has come to light!

 I am so blessed to get to work with these people. This is just a little of what my life is entailing right now.  Let me know what else you want to know!
