Hello!
Well, I wrote last week about changes that were happening in the program here in the Dominican Republic. I thought that those changes were to be the last ones for awhile. But as my roommate, Tamara’s mom is apparently always saying “If you want to make God laugh just tell him your plans.” Apparently I tickled God’s funny bone because my world has been shaking these past few days.
I had been preparing for changes these past few days because, as you already know, Tamara is leaving for the USA on Saturday heading back to Mexico. I move into the apartment on Monday and Olga, my new roommate moves in on Tuesday. Enough changes right? I told God that I had had enough. No need for anymore challenges.
The next day Angelo my one remaining original teammate announced that he was leaving the program and heading back to the states. He feels that God has anointed this change and left yesterday on the five o’clock Caribe Tours bus headed to the Capitol. I am so thankful for the time I had with Angelo. He is a gifted Evangelist and does not fear persecution or injustice for his faith. I was privileged to have ministered with him. If you would like to check out his blog and his closing remarks he will be posting on angelopadin.myadventures.org
Other than that our ministry here is thriving. My English classes have doubled in size, cell group is blossoming and awesome relationships are being formed. Please pray for the local people here that they would be understanding of Angelo’s leaving and that the impact he left would be lasting.
With much love, Emily
