Hey world,
I have been wondering what to write about as so much is changing and yet nothing has been finalized. But I have had one idea on my mind for quite some time and feel like it is time to share it with you.
In my back yard grow many banana trees. They are in various stages of development and maturity. The cool thing about banana trees that I did not know is that a banana tree only produces one stalk of bananas and then is finished. During the final ripening of the bananas a sprout of a banana tree will grow up right beside the adult tree out of the same root system. When the bananas are ripened you chop them off the tree and then cut down the entire banana tree. The sprout then takes over the already matured root system and grows really fast.
What an awesome opportunity for a metaphor!
I didn’t want to waste this metaphor so I am taking my time to write this blog.
Let me just say that “my group is bananas, b-a-n-a-n-a-s!” And as bananas we have been cultivated from Miguel and Kristen who are like the new banana tree. There early discipleship by Bob Wag created a root system that they are now building off of. It’s a metaphor for DISCIPLESHIP! Good I was wondering where this was going. And as they invest there roots into me, like the banana tree I will grow faster and reproduce faster because I am blessed by there “root system”.
So now I ask that as my support you would spend time in prayer for Kristen and Miguel (and Sammie there little baby girl) it will bless me so much for you to bless them. Thank you so much for your continuous support and love.
Emily
Hmm, Bananas. I hope you are adjusting well to the changes.
